Wasted (An Addict's Lament')

I`ve just drunk a toxic punch, my body`s full of sulphate.

The amphetamine I had for lunch has shrivelled up my prostate.

The joint I had for dinner was not a joint of meat,

It was rich and thick, and roasted quick,-

to smoke,- and not to eat!

I washed it down with a bottle of wine,

Had a couple of E’`s for my tea.

Then when it got round to supper time I was totally outta my tree.

I disintegrated in my chair,-

at bedtime my senses abandoned me there!

I woke up at lunch-time, you know how it is,-

I didn`t know what day it was until I`d done some whizz.

Then back to the stash to smoke some more hash,

And by tea-time I`m high as a kite.

Then to the machine to get some more cash

and stock up with wine for the rest of the night!

When I`ve pissed in the wardrobe

Then slept on the floor,

In the morning I`ve sworn I won`t do it no more,

But in no time I`m chasing the dragon again

When I know that the price of my pleasure is pain,

And all that I`ll get from the drugs that I`ve tasted

Is bankrupt,

-and totally wasted!
